The Dell

Neutral tones balanced throughout an open plan extension

The Dell showcases Not So Gray's expertise in designing for contemporary open-plan spaces — a context that demands a particularly disciplined and cohesive approach. The project centred on a newly extended family home, where the challenge was to bring warmth and definition to large, flowing spaces without disrupting the sense of light and openness the extension was designed to create.

A carefully curated palette of neutral tones forms the foundation of the scheme, with texture playing a leading role in creating visual interest and depth. Made-to-measure curtains and roman blinds were specified in natural, tactile fabrics — linens, weaves and soft plains — that complement the architecture and connect the interior to the outside. The result is a serene, beautifully balanced home that feels spacious yet intimate.
